Full Worm Moon

BRIGHT BLESSINGS of the FULL moon to you

March 14, 2025

Big Stretch!

As I wrote about for the Dark Worm Moon, this moon’s name is inspired by the underground movement that’s starting to take place as the earth thaws out at the end of winter. Among other creatures who have rested or died off during the cold months, worms are reawakening and/or hatching - depending on the species - and getting back to their essential work of moving resources around and nourishing the soil.

And ready or not - we are starting to do the same. As much as I love the invitation to slow down in the colder, darker months, spring is by far my favorite season where I live, in Baltimore, and I am committed to taking full advantage of it! Being by the water, being in the woods, noticing the blooms blossoming in waves. Specific to the east coast of the United States: enjoying warm, sunny weather before the humidity weighs me down.

So as we let the movement of the worm, the lengthening of days, and the sweet aromas of moist soil wake us up, here is a gentle movement practice to bring us to the threshold of the equinox.

Guided Movement Practice

Reflect

  • What are some things you’re grateful to your body for?

  • What are some ways you want to engage your body with kindness this spring?

  • Who are the people in your life who encourage you to be kind to your body?

  • When you feel negatively toward your body, what are some practices you have found to bring your mindset back to neutrality or positivity? Are there places in your life that feel especially fertile, dormant, or stagnant?
